A Journey With Breast Cancer

Hey Everybody!

I didn’t really plan to have anything to write about for a while, but seems my body & DRs have ganged up on me, and I’ve got a few things going on this week.

Wed. I had an electrocardiogram & and echochardiogram, pretty routine and planned, nothing special going on there. But, tomorrow, I’m having some more tests, which weren’t planned or expected.

I don’t expect too much from the CT Scan of my lungs, which is my second one, this one a little different from last weeks. Last weeks didn’t show any inflammation from the Sarcoid or asthma that would be causing the shortness of breath and other breathing difficulties I’ve been having, so this week we are looking to see if there is a possibility of blood clots. I don’t really expect anything there, but they want to be sure.

The next, I don’t expect anything unusual either. Seems when they did the first CT they saw something on my vertebra that looked suspicious, tho it could be simply arthritis. Which I’m betting on, since it’s in the area where I was first told that I had arthritis when I was about 22 yrs old, so that’s probably what they are seeing, but to be sure, with the cancer in the picture, we are doing a complete bone scan.

The last item, is a bit bothersome to me, but probably has a simple answer too. I’ve been having trouble with what I presume to be just the chemo sores down into my throat, but they’ve gotten to the point that my food and meds are getting stuck in my throat, and that occasionally can cause you to pass out (I know, I did last week and almost did another time) BUT I’ve had this spot in my throat for a long time (as in many, many years, that seems to catch pills or food occasionally if I’m not careful, and I have passed out before and nearly done so on several other occasions.

I’m hoping that this is just an inflammation that is aggravating an existing condition and the resulting diagnosis will be that it will go away when the sores go away. Since the next set of treatments are supposed to be much less harsh chemicals that have much less side-effects, I’m hoping that comes SOON!!! I’m so tired of not being able to eat much and hurting to get practically anything eaten.

Basically, I don’t want anyone to be alarmed by any of this, I think all of it is going to turn out just fine, I just would like to ask for extra prayer during and after the tests that all goes according to God’s Will and is in His best interest.

So, I’m off to bed to get some sleep, and hope that my daughter-in-law, Ana, doesn’t make Marcus have to drag me out of bed to go to the hospital earlier than planned. Since SHE and Eric are already out there!!! She was already 2cm dilated on Sunday, not sure how much at Thursday’s visit, and she has been having contractions all week, but now they are getting more intense. The down side, is that she is running a bit of a fever and Eric felt that she needed to be checked out if for no other reason than to make sure she is well enough to deliver if it should be time.

Who knows, while I’m on one floor tomorrow having tests done, she could be on another floor delivering my first baby grandson! The fella is pretty a good size from what they said the ultra sound shows, so she may have a time of it, with her being so tiny. So, keep her and the baby in mind when you turn your thoughts and prayers this way.

They’ve been decorating the baby’s room this past week or so, and it’s all so very ready for him! It’s the first grandson for her family, and Ana’s mother is just so excited.

I’ve been noticing a lot of inspirational and motivational posters and pictures lately. Seems like a good set of coincidences to me, and you know what they say about God and coincidences :)  He’s talking to me, and I hope He talks to you too, it’s really a great thing to have. A lot of comfort and peace comes with knowing that things are taken care of. I’ll let you know if I’m “grandma again” tomorrow or as soon as it happens!

God’s blessings to each of you and may you feel His presence in all that you do.

Sherry

Whoops! Newsflash just as I was finishing spellchecking this!! Ana is 7-8cm dilated, and they are discussing possible C-section, as there is bleeding and the baby’s heart rate is very high. We are definitely on pins and needles now! OOoooooh I can hardly wait! But, certainly hope it goes naturally, as Ana so very much wants that. Blessings to you all again, looks like our blessing will be delivered tonight! hahahaha
